#DCPSRising is Mayor Bowser’s initiative to ensure that DCPS continues to rise with innovative leaders, dedicated teachers, supported parents and an engaged community. This is about the next generation – we want to hear from you about your priorities when it comes to what’s next in education reform.

DCPS Rising Leadership Committee

Mayor Bowser has appointed a panel of individuals, the DCPS Rising Leadership Committee, to inform the selection process. The Committee is representative of all eight wards and diverse backgrounds and experiences who are strongly invested in the success of DCPS.

The DCPS Rising Leadership Committee will meet three times over the course of the Chancellor selection process. The Committee’s role is to provide feedback and input on the community engagement process and make recommendations to the Mayor on the factors she should consider when making her selection.  The Committee will be required to attend at least one of the citywide community forums and must consider the community input received, before making a recommendation to the Mayor.
